"Ree Ree Khaosan", a traditional game played

It is a Thai traditional game played in a community festive event or during the Songkran festival in ther central region of Thailand.

To play the game, two players are standing facing one another with arms raised high above and joining hands to form an arch arm-door-way. The rest of players are to form a line, placing hands on shoulders of a person standing infront, then walking through the arch arm-door-way and start singing - a - long.

The lyric goes......

"Ree Ree Khaosan, two parcels of rice grain,

a young kind hurrily scoops rice into his plate,

a lotus flower has yet to bloom, who stays at the back will be caught"...

OR.....

"Ree Ree khaosan", two parcels of rice grain,

choose a palm leaf,

pick a coin under a seat stall, who stay at the back will be caught"

OR......"Ree Ree Khao san ,.............. and so on...

When the singing reached the part saying..."who stays at the back will be caught"...the arm-door quickly drop to catch a person in line inside.

This would be repeated and a person in line is caught and taking out of the game one by one until no one left.

This game is part of the fun and enducating game, learning / teaching .. to " give and take".

Everybody can play this game , enjoy by all ages and genders, with unlimited numbers of plays in game.
You can see the sculpture of Children Playing "Ree Ree Khaosan", came from Thai Human Imagery Museum in Nakornpathom province , near Bangkok. They are not real children !!!!

I know a game that is played in many countries, the contest in which a fist, an open hand, and two moving fingers signify stone , paper and scissors .As we all know the rules: stone breaks scissors...............(find more when I do up load another blogs about it, in near future)

I wonder ....Do any of you know or have a similar game like " Ree Ree Khaosan" ? Please tell me . Thanks for interesting.
